Goa Shivir 2014: Divinity Unplugged (Hindi)

Day 1

Namah shivay! To the uninitiated, there were just chantings by sadhaks this evening on the first day of the Goa shivir. However, a pure sadhak would have seen Baba ji sitting on his sacred seat of divinity on the stage, even though his presence was subtle. But, by the end of the shivir in a week, even the uninitiated people will understand the leela of the Guru. Baba ji knows what is best for the disciples and he operates of his own sweet divine will. And so, it occurred to Baba ji that he must first establish the connection with divinity, heal those chanting in the hall so that they direct themselves towards the correct start.

So, the first day turned out to be an orientation where the auspiciousness within the sadhaks reigned supreme. Therefore, after the Swadhyay and sundry Shiv Yog bhajans on CDs, a few talented young guns seized the opportunity to showcase their singing prowess on stage, in sync with the musicians. The audience received all the performances with a big round of applause.

On a lighter note, not all performers were young. An aged sadhak too presented his rendition of a Sita Ram bhakti geet. But in Shiv Yog if we are young at heart, we hail ourselves too as young guns. Kudos to the performers of today. All are blessed souls. And those listening to them got to witness even more blessings, as they too sang along with them.
How happy would’ve been Baba ji subtly seeing every single event.
Q. Message kya tha guru ji ka.
A. Namah shivay ji. The subtle message was not to run after the physical body of the Guru. He is omnipresent and if we cannot see Him, it doesn't mean he's not witnessing all our actions. Blessings.

Among the many reasons why you should raise your consciousness is that you need to improve.

A person whose Kundalini shakti or the consciousness has not risen will feel that everything about him is perfect. He will not even realize where he is going wrong in life. It will be his view that all is perfect about him and there is no scope of improvement.

On this, Baba ji said, “It is only after purifying yourself through the good habits of regular Sadhna, devotional Sankirtan and Nishkaam sewa that you can raise your consciousness. Before raising the consciousness, it seems to the person that all is well. All the bad habits are fine. But remember that evolution and change in personality can occur only once you know where you are going wrong. And most of the times we think that we are always right.

This is a sign that we need to raise our vibrations, a sign that we will not reach a spiritual goal in this life. A sign that we need to make a lot of effort to first know what is wrong and what is right. Because a solution can be worked out only when one knows the problem. Answers hold value only when there are questions. Thus, in order to first know where you exactly you need to change your attitude, your behavior, your habits, your time-table, your eating routine, your sadhna, sewa and sankirtan schedule, you need to raise your consciousness.”
