The Art of Dying

Baba ji says that the emotion which is predominant in our lives is also the one which prevails during our last hours i.e. at death. Elaborating on this, he says that if we have kept with us the emotion of resentment and dissatisfaction in life, cursing others for not doing as much for us as we have done for them, this emotion adds to the agony during death and is carried with the karmic baggage in the next life.

Doing sadhna and steering the mind towards divinity thus becomes essential during one’s lifetime so that the predominant emotion when we are fully awake and alive turns to that of divine bliss. In such a scenario, while at death like while alive, one knows that the worldly existence was a temporary one as per our karmas and that our sojourn on the planet is up and we are heading towards the infinite Shiva, Who is our place of origin and ultimate destination.

When we practice meditation all our lives and become the purest being, after death the soul will enter an equally pure dimension.

The soul leaving the body is like a meditation session, requiring silence, peace and tranquility. However, the customs, practices and traditions which exist today result in inconsolable weeping, mourning, delirious crying, bereavement and unending sorrow when someone dies. The tussle to cry is so much that people have come to think that the one who cries the most, loved the dead person the most.

Contrary to helping the soul, we disturb the process of introspection and the process of readying for soul departure that the body is undergoing which includes, sucking out of life force energy from all organs, exit of the 4 bodies, rise of the Kundalini and the attempt by the inner and outer self to understand the Ultimate Truth.

In the final few hours, efforts must be made to create a convivial and conducive atmosphere for the soul to leave for its Higher Abode. This should be done either by chanting or playing of the Om Mantra, any other Mantra or the Guru Mantra so that all the focus of the departure is towards the real destination without thinking about the worldly relations, wealth, fortune, cravings, desires and attachments.

Baba ji explains that sleep is in a way akin to death. When we sleep and are in the dream state, our subtle bodies navigate in various dimensions as per what we consciously do, as per the impressions in the sub conscious mind and the level of consciousness we attain through what we do. In death too this occurs. The difference however is that the invisible ‘Spiritual cord’ that connects all our 4 bodies with the physical body remains tied in dreams so that after the sleep they come back and retain their position. In death however, nature snaps and cuts this cord and that astral bodies don’t come back to align along the physical body.

Now when we know that in dreams too our body travels in various dimensions, Baba ji affirms that it is for this reason that dreams must be peaceful and positive. To experience this, there is nothing better than Shree Vidya sadhna before sleeping which works on multifarious dimensions and its omnipotent mantra enters our sub conscious, leading to a divine dream journey and cosmic light illuminating our inner self to wake up all energized.

Baba ji elucidates the phenomenon of death by likening it to sleep. He says that the astral bodies venture out even while sleep as they do during death, the difference being in them being tied to the physical body in sleep through the spiritual or silver or etheric cord roughly near the region of our belly button.

At the time of departure, the soul first snaps out the supply of Life Force energy or Prana to various organs one by one. The Prana is the driving force of our physical organs as it provides the fuel in the second body or Pran Shareer which in turn regulates the Sthool shareer or the physical body. As the process of sapping Life force energy from the organs occurs, the 4 bodies try to align themselves and the consciousness turns inwards i.e. it tries to ignore the physical surroundings and happenings around the person at that time, in its efforts to reach to the Sehastrasar chakra.

The aim of all meditative processes, chanting, good deeds throughout our lives is spiritual growth which is measured by the level of consciousness. The consciousness is the Kundalini Shakti which is present in the Base chakra or Mooladhar chakra. Through regular sadhna and by leading a life in conformity with the Guru’s teachings, what we indirectly do is to pull the consciousness up from the Mooladhar towards the Sehastrasar chakra to attain the end of karmas or the state of Siddhatwa or the state of Self Realization or Moksha.

When a person has not been imparted the knowledge of the real purpose of birth and death, he supposes and assumes that his real identity is the body. So, such a person at the time of death thinks that someone is pulling out his breath. He tries to fight back in the scramble to stay in the body. It is in such a context that the real Wisdom of the Art of Dying becomes so essential.

We are not permanent on this planet. As humans it is just a short journey on this planet to clear our karmic debts, to forgive, distribute love, through meditation burn all our accumulated karmas of this and previous births and finally merge with the Supreme Shiva which is the Infinite.

Our real identity too is not this body. The real ‘I’ is the soul. The body is just a vehicle of this soul. The soul cannot clear its karmic baggage in its raw state. It requires a body of 5 elements. It requires 4 astral bodies to go with a physical body.

Queries of Sadhaks ----- Part 13

Q. Shiv yog foundation in kaliyug how can we give so much time to all these like sri vidhya, saptshti, pran kriya, sarp kriya, sankirtan, seva, these are many things in shivyog how one can do all these things maximum he can do sadhana and sarp kriya and if we do all this then we will get less time for sadhana what’s the solution?
A. Namah shivay you have to set your priorities right. Categorize what’s important and what can be left for later or be done away with. Sadhna followed by sankirtan (Durga Saptashati) are the most important for spiritual growth. Sewa is the nitro booster for your spiritual vehicle. So to better your sadhna and Sankirtan, do sewa. If divine deeds apart from sadhna and sankirtan (which can’t be skipped at any cost) can’t be done daily, make sure you do them at some point in the week or month. Blessings.

Q. Namah Shivay Babaji! I have a question. I have 6 merus on my siddha table. I is the maha meru, and 5 are smaller merus. Do I have to put kumkum on all of them while praying 11 times each? I am doing so everytime, so it amounts to a mantra cycle repeated 11 x 6! Please tell me if sometime I can compromise or should I carry on?
A. Namah shivay you should have your own personal Meru on which you do the Kumkum quite often as in daily. But the other Merus should be treated to kumkum once a week or month depending upon the time at hand. Namah shivay

Q. Shiv yog foundation if I promote Babaji teachng in my status msg it would be also considered wrong as a shivyogi sadhak?
A. Namah shivay if you are quoting Baba ji from the official sources, no problem whatsoever. But if you are giving your views as Baba ji's teachings then it’s a bit tricky. In other words, if you can quote Baba ji word to word exactly, then it’s perfect. For that share status posts from this page, videos of Baba ji and teachings from official sources. Because as a sadhak relatively old, you know what is correct and what is wrong. However this may not be the case with the new sadhaks who may pick up wrong points in the name of Baba ji. Namah Shivay

Q. Namah shivay!! Any particular time has been decided or we need to do as routine we always doing??
A. Namah shivay Morning brahmamuhurat and evening twilight are best times. Blessings.

Q. Shiv Yog Foundation. Namah Shivay! How do we feel chakra activation? Do we feel rotating clockwise or anti-clockwise or it pulsating? Can we feel or 7 chakras rotating at same or only one at a time.
A. Namah shivay the day you begin to see Shiva in everyone and love begins to emanate from your heart upon seeing everyone, your chakras are getting activated and your spiritual growth is taking place. Spiritual growth and Kundalini awakening is not about chakra activation. It is about becoming as loving, simple and non judgmental. Chakra activation will happen on its own. There is no need to focus on that. Just do the meditation, why worry about the fruits? Namah shivay.

Q. Shiv Yog Foundation . . . If I am reciting Durga Saptshati more than once in a one sitting do I need to repeat all the stuties before & after. .. Guru, Kunjika, shap vimochan, MritSanjeevani etc. etc? Please guide me? Thanks a lot. . . Namah Shivay.
A. Namah shivay in a single sitting you are advised to do the Saptashati only once. Namah shivay.

Q. Babaji. I will do it. But can a woman do it during her monthly cycles.
A. Namah shivay Shiva is beyond all physical and biological phenomenons. Sadhna and Sankirtan must be done daily irrespective of any body process. Blessings.
Q. Namah Shivay, does meditating facing towards south is a negative thing? Please answer?
A. Namah shivay you can do meditation in any direction. Facing East is the best but any other direction is not any less beneficial. Blessings.

Q. Namah Shivay...I have a query regarding Mahameru... I am visiting a friend's place for 3-4 days with entire family; I would like to know if I can take the Maha Meru with me for doing the SV sadhana and putting kumkum... Also, if I don't carry it with me I will miss out on putting kumkum for those days... Please advice what shall I do?
A. Namah shivay Priya ji it is not advisable to carry the Meru wherever you go. Kumkum abhishek can be done when you’re at home. When doing sadhna at some other place where you don’t have Meru, just imagine that your Meru is placed in front of you. Blessings.

SHIV MANAS PUJA

Shiva Manas Puja, written by Adi guru Shankaracharya is a very special hymn, which not only praises Shiva, but also depicts the true flavour of Shiva worship. Shiva needs devotion and not demonstration. In this stottram we offer to the great Lord various offering not in physical form but in mental form. We Start by offering bath, cloths, foods, devotion and finally offer ourselves to the Lord. The beauty lies in the fact that everything we offer, we offer with faith and devotion in the portal of our mind and not physical. The compassionate Mahadev accepts all our offering and frees us from the consequences of our wrong doings, done knowingly or unknowingly. This stotra is an eye opener to those who are fanatic about rituals as it clearly shows that faith and intentions are more important!

Mantra Sadhana

Real identity of every human is Sat-Chit-Anand. The purpose of taking human birth is to experience happiness always. There are 2 paths before everyone, the path of happiness or the path of sorrow and everyone have to choose one. Take a break and see on which path you are walking on. Find the cause to be happy always. Connect to your real “self” (Sat-Chit-Anand), then what ever you do will be your holistic karma. ShivYog is the path of knowingness, whatever you do, be aware of it.

Each and every situation of a person is the reflection of his/her inner world, the thoughts. Thoughts are controlled by sanchit karmas, psychic impressions and engraved belief systems stored in the Gyanmai Kosha. Manomai Kosha (thoughts) is controlled by Gyanmai Kosha. So if you want to change your situation, you have to change your thoughts and for that sanchit karmas and psychic impressions should be erased.

A person has negative attitude due to the sanchit karmas of negative phobias and fears. Positive thinking can’t happen just by preaching or reading positive things unless the sanchit karmas of negative phobias and fears are released or removed. The sanchit karmas can be released or removed through sadhana and meditation. The person becomes positive when he releases and let go his/her karmas and negative belief system through sadhana. With positive thinking more positive energy is created in the cells, more active cells are generated and that change the life forever. There are two ways to release karma: One is - Suffering - which is not the good way. Second is - Sanjeevni Shakti – recite mantra, sadhana.

Learn the lesson from every movement. If someone says bad things about you, just close your eyes, take light from within and say “I am happy, I am positive” and do not react, just smile and be happy, this will give you peace of mind. Thanks the person for giving the opportunity to learn the lesson. Resolve and let go of all the unresolved issues in life. The moment you complain you start vibrating at low frequency. When you give thanks you start vibrating at higher frequency.

Your intention is important. Always ask yourself, “What is my intention in my gift or thought or in what I speak?”  One should have pure intention and unconditional love, emotions of unconditional love creates very powerful electromagnetic field. When you have feeling of unconditional love, the whole universe will be attracted towards you. Tumhara koi shatru nahin hoga. If you want to remain young, your every thought, every word and every reaction should be emitting unconditional love. Don’t expect anything in return, just give love and feel happy. With this practice the electromagnetic field will increase and the accumulated karmas will be dissolved.

Scriptures say Mahamrityunjaya mantra is supreme sadhana. "Mahamrityunjaya mantra" Sadhana strengthened our sadhana. Thoughts will materialize into physical manifestation so only think what you want. Feel you already have it. Sanjeevni will help; no ifs or butts will stop you. The Shakti of mantra and Sanjeevni Shakti will help. Mantras give positive vibrations so keep chanting. Every mantra has different vibration; here are some mantras for different purposes.

·        Wisdom – saraswati mantra – “aim”
·        Wealth – Lakshmi mantra – “shreem”
·        Self confidence – Shakti mantra – “hreem”.
·        Remove obstacles – Ganpati mantra – “om gam ganapathe namah” – soft effect. For a blast effects say “vakratundaya HOOOOM!”
·        Mahalaxmi mantra – "Om shreem hreem kleem shreem Lakshmay raagh chaagh mandrahay tisht tisht swahaa.”
·        For all planets – Navgraha shanty mantra - “Brahma- Muraari-- Tripuraant-kaari, Bhanu, Shashi, Bhoomi-Suto, Budha-scha Guru-scha Shukra Shani Rahu Ketavah, Kuruvantu Sarve graha Mum Suprabhatam Om shanti shanti shanti om.”
·        Mahamrityunjaya mantra – Beej mantra -- “Om hrom jum sa”.
·        Mahamrityunjaya full mantra-- “Om Bhur Bhuvah Swaha, Om Hrom Jum Sah, Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pusthi Vardhanam Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukshiya Mamritat, Om Swaha Bhuvah Bhur, Om Sah Jum Hrom Om".
