Q. 1 I shall be grateful if you could tell us something about babaji's birthplace, parents and childhood.thankyou.

Now that’s what we call curiosity, wanting to know about the body more then what is in it. Anyways I will tell you what I know, what I have heard from Ma and Babaji. Babaji lost his father when he was months old, he had three brothers and three sisters of which he was the youngest, he was raised by his oldest brother and his mother, by raising I mean he being taught those teachings which transformed him. But the most influential on his life was his mother; Babaji and Ma always talk about Dadi ma. She was the one who triggered every change in him, she was the one Babaji and Ma did a lot of sewa for and she was the one who finally blessed Babaji.
Now that was on the family front. Apart from that Babaji talks about many Siddhas who came into in his life and gave him many powers of which the first one was 108 Swami Jagannath who blessed him when he was eight, so you can guess how his life was, with so many changes and siddhas. Maybe someday a book might be compiled on it but till that day this is what I can tell you in short.

Q. 2 Babaji, I have read about the approaching year 2012. As guided by you, I am doing Sadhna regularly. However, some of my family members are not convinced about attending your shivir as of you now. As I understand some huge changes are going to happen on Dec 21, 2012. What should we do? I mean we are a little confused as to what kind of precautions to take especially for our family, employees, neighbours etc. Please guide us. Also, I want to thank you for coming in my life.

Q. 3 Respected Ishan Bhai Pranam (Namah Shivay)
My Husband has downloaded many things available from net but bought the CDs from Mumbai Shivir of the same. I am not sure if this balances the karma. I am asking since we both use the downloaded stuffs rather than CD.
Please Guide and Pray to Forgive all of us who in the absence of Online Divine Shop, fall pray to.... but Shanmukaji help when we were not initiated.

Babaji loves you so much, all the time he is in meditation for you. So how can there be any karma? What I had mentioned was that there are so many sadhaks who out of just love for ‘their’ Babaji do so much hard work. The programs which are public i.e. those, coming on TV, somehow get on You Tube owing to some sadhaks. So that healing can spread. You see the intention matters a lot. If I am giving someone something is it for their healing? Is it for some good? Because every sadhak wants that the good coming to them from Shivyog should spread, and if I just take the matter and post it, there is a difference.
There is so much which the ashram is doing; so much effort is done to bring Babaji to the public, and may it be videos on the net or TV. And if Nishkam seva is to be done, the sadhaks help in this effort. Whatever is public, they spread it, and if someone needs healing Babaji himself say the mantra CD helps. So if you give to someone you help.
But if everything which Babaji only gives out of sheer love for us, & which is so sacred for us is put on the net, then the efforts of so many sadhaks & the effort of the ashram on the whole suddenly becomes a little cheap.
So spread the word of Shivyog and Babaji, keeping the sentiments of all the Shivyogis who do genuine seva, in mind.
And if something was downloaded illegally, by way of piracy, Babaji still loves you that is one fact which can never change.

Q. 4 namah shivay babaji!!!!!!!!!
Here is my utterly imp query!!!
There are two communities;1)advaitya which says everything is fixed or destined!!!!!!!!!!!
and other one is which you tell:2)we are the creators of our own destiny!!!!!!!!!!
You told me any of these if followed by 100% devotion and without any manipulation is correct. because ultimately it’s our devotion which zero;s the ego down and bring us closer and closer to reality which is bliss 24*7. but when I follow the theory which even science says yes to i.e. Aham Bramhasmi or we are the creator of our own destiny then either a solid example of advaitya comes or I see almost entire humanity suffering because for the simple reason that there is no joy in their lives. and when I surrender my ego or mind to fact that ok everything is fixed no need to think then I feel that I am wasting my janamah or this beautiful birth as a human being!!!!!!!!and I feel I should follow ahm brahma asmi and create my own destiny!!!!!! it’s quite some time now that I have been pondering over these two things. and I want a solution to it or else in this confusion I am wasting my life!!!!!!!!
Its juz like a person who strongly with 100% devotion feels that in a stone god is there and he appears another person who feels is not there with 100% devotion even then he appears because in either case ego was zeroed down!!!!!!
my manipulates all this to sucha an extent that it tells me that its not there or there is a hoax in all this is done to get my devotion and I am unable to zero my mind or go with one thing!!!! I am really confused. what should I do???

Maha Lakshmi Ashtakam

[Mahalakshmi, who is the consort of Vishnu, is worshipped as goddess of wealth. In the beginning of creation she took form from the left side of Vishnu and was later born again from the sea of milk, when devas churned it for getting nectar. This very simple prayer is very ancient and has been chanted by generations for solving all their problems.]

Namosthesthu Maha Maye,
Sree peede, sura poojithe,
Sanka, chakra, Gadha hasthe,
Maha Lakshmi Namosthuthe. 1

I offer my worship to Maha Lakshmi, who symbolizes the great illusion and who is worshipped by all Devas. I worship Maha Lakshmi who resides in Sri Peetham and who carries Sankh (Conch), Chakra (Disk) and Gadha (Club) in her hand.

I offer worship to the one who has Garuda bird as her vehicle and who was feared by even Demon "Kola". I worship Maha Lakshmi who destroys all sadness.

I offer worship to the one who is all knowing, giver of all boons, remover of all dangerous enemies. I worship Maha Lakshmi who is remover of all afflictions.

Maha Lakshmi confers great powers, desires, good intellect, enjoyment and Liberation (heaven). I worship Maha Lakshmi who is the personification of all mantras and who is ever shining and radiant.

Maha Lakshmi is the one who is without beginning or end. She is the primordial energy and Maheswari. I worship Maha Lakshmi who was created out of yoga and who sustains yoga sakthi.

Maha Lakshmi represents both the gross and the subtle manifestations of life. She is very scary to the bad. She is the great energy. I worship Maha Lakshmi who destroys the greatest sins.

Maha Lakshmi who has lotus as her seat symbolizes the ultimate reality. I worship Maha Lakshmi who is Parameswari and the mother of the universe.

Wearing white clothes Devi Maha Lakshmi is adorned completely with jewels. I worship Maha Lakshmi who is the omnipresent Devine Mother.

Phala Sruthi

Maha lakmyashtakam stotram,
Ya padeth Bhakthiman nara,
Sarva sidhi mavapnothi,
Rajyam prapnothi sarvadha.

Those men who read this octet praising Mahalakshmi,
with devotion and discipline,
would make all powers as his own,
and also would attain the kingdom forever.

Yeka kale paden nithyam, maha papa vinasanam,
Dwi kale paden nithyam Dana dhanya samanvitha,
Tri kalam paden nithyam Maha shathru vinasanam,
Maha Lakshmir Bhaven nithyam Prasanna, varada Shubha.

If this is read daily once, great sins committed would be destroyed,
If this is read twice daily, you would be blessed with wealth and grains, If this is read thrice daily, your great enemies would be destroyed, And the goddess Maha Lakshmi would be with you, with happiness, with blessings and with good tidings.

Queries of shadhaks-- Part 3

Q. 1. Namah Shivay Babaji, I don't think I will be able to do the Siddha dhyan, Shambhavi dhyan and Shree vidya but I want to attain ascend..so what effort should I do. There should be one way for me! Babaji my deep wish is to merge with God the Supreme Soul....

A. Namah shivay do the swaadhyay vocal chanting daily with emotions. Just even that done perfectly will lead you to the 4th Dimension. Bless you

Q. 2  Babaji I am your very blessed daughter...thanks baba for everything....please guide me as to what should my approach be towards improving the relationships between my family members with each other....can I write their names in my Golden Book if I want their relationships to improve...please guide me babaji...namah shivaya.

A. Namah shivay you can write that, "I, (your name) have a very strong and loving bond with all my family members. I care for them and fulfill their needs even if they don’t tell me. We spend quality time together for at least half an hour if not more daily".

Q. 3 I am still waiting for my miracle...!!!!

A. Namah shivay do the meditation without expecting (nishkam) anything. Do it for your purity. Follow Shiv Yog in all its essence. Remove the karmic layers everything else will follow.

Q.4 Thank you very much Ishaan Bhaiya for your message, does this mean we have to even increase our sadhana starting now and make it even more intense after April 2012. One more important question for me? I am right now in US on a long term assignment, I wanted to know given a choice will India be the right place to be in physically and spiritually in late 2012. Thank you, Namaha Shivaya.

A. Namah shivay make it intense now and always. There is no scope for a lackadaisical meditation at any given time. This period starting from 2010 to 2012 December is crucial as a few minutes of meditation done would be equivalent to years and years of tapa.

India is the land of the holy siddhas. There is no soil purer than this. The Guru Mandala has originated from this divine place so inevitably this scores over any other place. Do the sadhna you will be safe everywhere you go.

Q. 5 Namah Shivay... I wanted to know how one increases their will power; I had read your words in a post that the willpower shall conquer it all... I am aware of the ascension period but lately every time I sit for meditation or healing I get a choked up feeling and can’t sustain more than 8-10 minutes... I really need to heal myself but I don’t seem to getting off this blockage... Thank you, Namah Shivay...

A. Namah shivay Nikita ji take a few deep breaths before the sadhna. Continue the deep breaths in the initial part of the meditation. Connect to the Guru and sincerely seek that your sadhna flows for an hour. By going deep in meditations will power increases automatically as the divine connection is made. Blessings.

Q.6 If you could please guide me how can I go deep into meditation...I really want to connect with babaji...namah shivay.

A. In the technical aspect of sadhna, light a dia in front of The Guru's and God's picture before meditation and request them to come and help you go deep down. Invoke their energies. Invoke the energy of Shiv Shiva. Invoke the holy siddhas. Thank them and then begin your sadhna. Blessings. Never leave your sadhna. The Guru mandala rewards sadhaks which e...exhibit regularity. It is your future currency. Miracles are soon to happen in your life. To go deep in meditation listen to peaceful songs and talk only positive things. Do not argue with anyone. Do not frown at anyone. Do not try to change anyone. Do not even listen to any type of judgment or criticism. Just stay in bliss. Thank the Guru and everyone around always.

Q. 7 Namah shivaya babaji please advise me as to how can improve my financial conditions?

A. Namah shivay does sewa daily. Listen and chant the Mahalaxmi mantra chant daily and when you get even an iota of money donate for some noble cause. Mind you though it shouldn’t go to beggars who may use it for buying smokes and liquor. Ensure that your charity is well utilized. Continue the Shree Vidya sadhna.

Q. 8 Namah Shivay! Whenever I meditate some tears come in my eyes and sometimes my lips also vibrate. Is this fine?

A. let it be natural. If it happens naturally and not a habit then its fine. Merger with the Original father causes tears of ecstasy. Let it be. Just let it be natural. Do not take pleasure in it and try to do it yourself. Just witness. Blessings

Q. 9 Namah Shivay. Could you please guide me to increase the sitting capacity in lotus position (sidhaasna)? I am meditating since last 6 months (after Delhi Shivir) but could not go beyond 30-40 minutes and due to this I am finding myself difficult to go in deep meditation.

A. Namah shivay. As part of the siddhis that a sadhak receives, the first is deh siddhi or the quality to control your body. In the Deh siddhi first thing is Aasan siddhi i.e. the quality of controlling your posture while meditation. A... sadhak must be able to sit for a particular period of time in a particular position daily. You said you can sit 40 minutes at a stretch but not more than that. Before doing Shiv Yog you wouldn’t have been able to sit even 40 minutes. You tried to sit and now it’s a habit. So gradually increase your sadhna time. First few weeks do 5-10 minutes extra by sitting for 5 more minutes than when the pains starts. This way your body will be used to for sitting for 45 minutes daily. Slowly increase this time to 50 and then finally one hour or more.

Now a question will arise in your mind that since it pains so much you have to stop the sadhna. No problem. Stop the sadhna but continue to sit for 5 minutes more and then slowly get up. Eat good food which encourages flexibility of joints. Foods like raw turmeric and calcium containing fruits and vegetables must be had to develop flexibility. Blessings.

Namah shivay. Babaji has laid emphasis on the fact that if the desire is for more abundance, prosperity and success, the sadhna should be more. Wealth Baba ji says must be acquired by legitimate and ethical means and if got by ill means, it begets illness. As is said ill got ill spent. Do not be rapacious and desirous of wealth overnight. Do not resort to unfair means to acquire wealth. Whatever has been pre ordained for us, we shall get it. SO the need for squabbling over money shouldn’t arise. Money should be earned by legitimate and proper means. Also, spend money on charity if you get wealth otherwise penury is round the corner. Give to the world what you want from others. Give love to the family. Start sewa from home.

Baba ji says that for spiritual growth, being a human is a primary concern. Be humble as you grow spiritually, only then will you progress towards the infinite otherwise the ego shall consume you.

If you really love God, love all its creations. Never inflict sorrow and grief on any creation of God.

He who finds peace with family at night is a real human otherwise an animal.

Baba ji has said that even judging good about others is bad. Praise others but never judge. Never compare also since everyone Is unique. Never make efforts to change and improve others.

Steer clear of anger.

It becomes so easy if one focuses and leads life on a day to day basis as Baba ji points out.

...Theu Guru bows to such a sadhak who follows the teachings unbridled day in and day out.

Such a sadhak is always protected by the Guru’s Aura and blessings.

Salutions are to that Guru, who opened the eye of one blind due to the darkness (cover) of ignorance with a needle coated with the ointment of knowledge.

Salutions are to that Guru, who is the Creator, Sustainer and Destroyer, who is the limitless one.

Salutions are to that Guru, who showed me the One to be known, who permeates whatever is movable, immovable, sentient or insentient.

Salutions are to that Guru, who showed me the One to be known, who is the Awareness prevading the movable and immovable in the three worlds (waking, dream and deep sleep)

Salutions are to that Guru, who is the Sun to the lotus of Vedanta and whoes lotus feet are made radiant by the jewel of all Srutis (Upanishads).

OM salutions to the Guru, Who is Awareness, changeless (beyond time), who is peace, beyond space, pure (free from likes and dislikes), and who is beyond the manifest and the unmanifest (Nada, Bindu etc.)

Gyanshakti samarudah Tattva mala vibhushitah
Bhukti mukti pradata ch Tasmai shree guruve namah (8)

Salutions are to that Guru, who is rooted in knowledge that is power, adomed with the garland of truth and who is the bestower of the joy of liberation.

Aneka janma samprapta karma bandha vidahine
Atma gyana pradanena Tasmai shree guruve namah (9)
Salutions are to that Guru, who by bestowing the knowledge of the Self bums the bondage created by accumulated actions of innumerable births.

Shoshanam bhava sindhoshcha gayapanam sarasampadah
Guru padodakam samyak Tasmai shree guruve namah (10)

Om salutions to the Guru; the perennial flow of wisdom from the one rooted in the vision of the Sruti, dries up totally the ocean of transmigration (samsara) and reveals the essence of all wealth (the freedom from want).

There is nothing superior to knowledge of Truth; no Truth higher than the Truth, and there is no purifying austerity better than the Truth; Salutions to that Guru.

Prostrations to that Guru, who is my Lord and who is the Lord of the Universe, my teacher who is the teacher of the Universe, who is the Self in me and the Self in all begins.

Brahmanandam paramasukhadam kevalam gyanamurtim
Dvandvateetam gaganasadrusham tattva-masyadi-laksyam
Ekam nityam vimalam achalam sarvadhee sakshi bhutam
Bhava teetam triguna rahitam sadgurum tam namami (13)

I bow to the Sadguru, who is the bliss of Brahman and the bestower of the highest joy. He is the absolute. He is knowledge personified. He is beyond duality. He is one. He is etemal, pure, steady and the witness of all thoughts. He is beyond all modifications (of mind and body) and free from the three gunas.

Nityam suddham nirabhasam Nirakaram niranjanam
Nityabodham chidanandam Gurum brahma namamyaham (14)
I bow to the Guru, who is Brahman, etemal and pure. He is beyond perception, formless and without taint. He is eternal knowledge, consciousness and bliss.

Dhyan moolam gurur murtih Pooja moolam guroh padam
Mantra moolam gurur-vakyam Moksha moolam guroh krupa (15)
Meditate on Gurus form, worship the Gurus feet, Guru’s words are mantras. Liberation is attained by Guru’s grace.

Tvameva mata cha pita tvameva
Tvameva bandhushcha sakha tvameva
Tvameva vidya dravinam tvameva
Tvameva sarvam mama deva deva (16)

Oh! God of all Gods! You alone are my mother, father, kinsman, friend, the knowledge and wealth. You are everything to me.

Namah shivay!!!  Baba ji, through the prodigal son Ishan Shivanand ji has sent the following write up. It is a humble request to follow the directions on Guru Poornima day only. All sadhaks' gratitude to Baba ji and Ishan ji for their unstinted care.

Significance of full moon day that is Guru Poornima

The full moon day, Guru Poornima in particular is observed as a very auspicious day. it emits lot of divine energy. On this sacred day of Guru Poornima , we can activate our Sixth element called Guru Tatva  by tapping the energy emitted by the universe, which in turn assists us to regulate the other five elements.

What is  Guru Poornima ?

On this day, all spiritual devotees worship their gurus. Spiritual seekers meditate throughout the day to intensify their sadhana. The Shakti or energy of the Guru is at its peak on this day. A sadhak who can connect himself to his Guru’s power can receive the grace to awaken the sixth sense. Sixth sense gives direction to his life.

 The Role of the Guru

Guru guides us to experience the consciousness of the Reality.

 ध्यान मूलम गुरुर्मुर्ति, पूजा मूलम गुरु पदम!

मंत्र मूलम गुरु वाक़्यं मोक्ष मूलम गुरु कृपा!!

 To light a fire within the self is a very arduous and cumbersome task, but with the grace of the Guru one can easily light the diya or "awaken the consciousness" with the divine light of the Guru as per the following saying

 सदगुरु ज्योत से ज्योत जगाओ

So, when we bow to the Guru, He helps us to remove our Sanchit karmas (accumulated negative emotions and impressions from the past) and introduces us to the infinite power. GURU descends on the Earth with the agenda to help the mankind.  A Guru is an "awakened being" who has received the shakti from an enlightened soul, giving the same to the worthy disciples.

 Every human has come on this planet to learn a lesson and to achieve a purpose in life. there are two ways to achieve it; one is quite easy under the lamp of Gurukripa and the other the hard way to go it alone. Even in dyan bandhu upnishad it is written that a spark can burn the sanchit karmas accumulated over our hundred of past lives, these karmas are the only reason of all the sorrows, diseases and scarcity. The Guru carries that spark, that shakti which is sufficient enough to destroy the baggage of karmas and thus helps us achieve the level of purity of our inner self, to experience the inner peace which is called awareness. With this awareness we can impart the knowledge to materialise our happiness in ANY way we aspire.

On the sacred day of Guru Poornima , we can easily receive the Prachand Shakti (invigorated energy) of the Guru as Guru becomes very generous when we establish union with the ultimate infinite’ Shiva’. Guru opens his Anahat chakra and blesses all the humankind with unconditional love.

You can receive his grace with SADHANA, SEVA and SANKIRTAN.

 So to raise your consciousness to higher spiritual level and to materialise your wishes, chant the following mantra:

  

ओउम नमो: भगवते शिवानंदाया 

 “ Aum Namoh Bhagvatey Shivanandaya “

Chant this mantra throughout the day, live in that aura by chanting the mantra for one hour followed by half an hour meditation and again chant the mantra.

 More the devotion you have, more you feel his aura and more is the grace you receive. It will be all the more beneficial if you do the collective dhyan with the invocation of Shiva and  with the invocation of the Guru by lighting a dia. Go to the nearest ashram if you can because that is where the Shakti of Gurus would be maximum, otherwise do the meditation in groups of 51, 108, 1008.
